THE ORIGINS OF THE GREAT CLUBS

Did you know that Real Madrid was founded by Catalans? Did you know that today's multi-millionaire Manchester City was formed to help get alcoholics and homeless people of the streets? Did you know that Grace Kelly designed the shirt of a famous European club? Why does River Plate sport a red sash on its shirt? How did club emblems evolve? All these questions, and many more, are answered in The Genesis of Football. This book covers how and why the main clubs on the planet were born, the reasons for their colors, the origins of their emblems, the nicknames that make them famous, and describes who their main rivals are on (and off) the field of play. From Europe to South America, The Genesis of Football is a look at the past and present of the teams that keep millions of people around the world awake at night and awaken the dreams inside them.
